Scuba Diving Bicheno, TasmaniaSituated right at the east of Bicheno, the picturesque Governor Island poses as an exemplary marine environment that deserves every tourist's awe. Mainlanders and foreigners from around the globe frequent the island for its rock formations "Hairy Wall" and "The Castle," wildlife that includes Australian fur seal, penguins, silver gulls, kelp gulls and other island species, and diving spots prominent for the caves and swim throughs. Standing as the breeding nest of crested terns, Governor Island becomes an essential faction for marine reserve. Pristine and cold waters invite divers to discover the underwater world that is home to several aquatic animals and plants. Though the strong and unpredictable currents and deep waters inhibit inexperienced divers to splurge and dive, Governor Island does not totally drive novices away. Adventure seekers can still explore the depths of the waters, especially if accompanied by a diving master or if possible, a well experienced diver. Complete with gear, experience and the utmost desire to navigate the world under, any diver can splurge right away, dive and expect the fairest and most serene ocean adventure. In Governor Island, the Canyon is one of the best diving locations that splashes up with bountiful sharp colors of green, yellow, purple, orange and blue. The hues that make up the oceanic canvass come from the garden of sponge, zoanthids (which give out a unique golden glow), plus several other creatures. Meanwhile, the cliffs down below create a shelter for the basketstars that come in a variety of sizes and shapes. Butterfly perches, trumpeters, and the uncommon huge boarfishes will come along as the diver travels underwater. Huge rock lobsters are also everywhere, sometimes coming with a string of tinier lobsters attached to their bodies. Governor Island does not only boast of the Canyon. In the east of Governor Island lies an equally exquisite diving spot called the Bird Rock, which is actually a huge boulder, under which grand caverns and swim throughs are located. It is very common in the Bird Rock to view and even swim with seahorses, boar fishes, marble fishes, abalones, morwongs, bullseyes, and some other aquatic species. Aside from ordinary caves and swim throughs, tourists are impressed by the illustrious "T-shaped" cavern, which houses sea whips. Governor Island's bountiful number of species shows how being a reserved island protects life underwater. The healthy environment beneath helps the marine creatures to thrive, grow and multiply. If the prime aim for diving and navigating the sea waters is to discover the life beneath, then Governor Island is a good location pick. Dive SitesRose Garden, The Castle, Bird Rock, Kelp Beds
